The most recent 80 mm aviation missile has been developed at Ganichev's NPO "Splav". The experts combined the properties of two munitions, concrete piercing and shrapnel-cumulative, as reported in Rostec.
The state corporation clarified that the engineers solved several complex technical problems by creating a weapon capable of hitting targets in open areas and hidden in the forest, in fortifications.
It is noted that NPO "Splav"'s development has become the basis for creating new multifunctional air-to-air missiles. It’s about a small-sized rocket engine for a series of unguided, corrected and guided munitions.
It is not excluded that soon the aviation missiles of NPO "Splav" will be used by the pilots of the strike Mi-28 helicopters ("Night Hunter"). Currently, the aircraft is armed with air-to-ground and air-to-air guided missile systems.
