Roscosmos has shown the preparations for the launch of the Russian Angara heavy-lift launch vehicle, which is scheduled for the end of 2023. Full flight tests will be completed in 2024.
All launch operations are being practiced. The cargo mock-up of the Angara rocket was moved to a vertical position, after which it was installed in the launch facility.
Then communications will be connected and docked to it. The team will also practice the stages of transferring and installing the rocket in the launch facility before the start of comprehensive tests with the Angara-NZ ground-based liquid mock-up.
The Angara was developed at the Khrunichev Center, which is part of Roscosmos. The Angara-A5 design has three stages. The rocket is 55 meters long and almost 9 m in diameter. The launch mass is 773 tons. Depending on the orbit, the Angara-A5 can put from 24 to 2.8 tons of payload into orbit. Thanks to this rocket, Russia will be able to launch any spacecraft into space on its own.
