Kurganmashzavod, owned by a subsidiary of Rostec Group, has sent a batch of new BMP-3s to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
It is known that the new BMP-3s start easily in any weather. Also, they are:
- frost-resistant – they can be operated at temperatures down to -40°C;
- have a day-night aiming device with independent stabilization of the field of view with a built-in rangefinder and thermal imaging camera and recognize the target even at night and far enough away;
- equipped with a set of additional protection, consisting of armored screens and anti-cumulative grilles.
The BMP-3 will soon have a new anti-drone system. Rostec Group recently successfully tested domestic FPV drone suppression systems on infantry fighting vehicles. It is assumed that in the future, all products of the Kurgan Machine-Building Plant, which produces BMPs, will be equipped with them.
