По Волге начинает ходить российский «Метеор 120Р» на подводных крыльях

The vessel reaches speeds of up to 75 km/h, and artificial intelligence helps to control it

A high-speed hydrofoil vessel, the "Meteor 120R," will operate on the Volga River from Nizhny Novgorod, according to the press service of JSC "State Transport Leasing Company."

The first voyage of the acquisition by the Nizhny Novgorod company "Vodohod" will take place to Kazan this Saturday, October 21.

The "Meteor 120R," with a high degree of localization, was designed by the Nizhny Novgorod Central Design Bureau for Hydrofoil Vessels named after R.E. Alekseev in collaboration with NPP "Radar mms." Unlike its Soviet "predecessor" called "Meteor," it operates almost without noise and vibration. The vessel reaches speeds of up to 75 km/h and can carry 120 people over a distance of up to 700 km.

Inside the vessel, there is a comfortable salon with air conditioning and multimedia systems, as well as a cafe-bar in the stern. An integrated bridge system with elements of artificial intelligence is used for the comfort of the crew and the safety of navigation.

It is known that several "Meteor 120R" units, which had already begun operating in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, were equipped with German MAN engines with a capacity of 1450 hp. However, the manufacturers planned to replace them with domestic developments.
