The manufacturing and design enterprise «Filing» (Novosibirsk), which produces military-grade products, has developed a lightened plate for concealed carry body armor.
It is noted that it withstands six shots of a bullet fired from the Dragunov sniper rifle (SVD).
According to a representative from «Filing», the construction is a solid ceramic plate. Thanks to this, it has become anatomical and has two bends: around the body and along the chest. It is known that the new plate is simpler and lighter in production, since it requires less glue to hold the armor package structure.
In «Filing», they recalled that GOST provides for body armor protection when hit by five shots from SVD. Their development withstood six shots and did not disintegrate. Now the ceramic plate is undergoing necessary tests and is being improved.
Earlier Rostech conducted tests of the Russian body armor «Oberorting», firing 8.6 × 70 mm Lapua Magnum bullets at it. The result stunned the experts.
