ROSA Disk Cloud and Russian Drivers - Inside 'R-FON'

Developers claim that the cloud service can work even with Windows and Mac and that the Russian smartphone 'R-FON' is maximally protected from personal and biometric data theft by hackers.

Customers of the first Russian smartphone 'R-FON' will get their own cloud service ROSA Disk, which will help store up to 10 GB of photos, videos and other information. If necessary, you can buy additional disk space. This was reported by 'R-FON Media'.

The full list of capabilities and the full interface of the future smartphone is currently kept secret.

The service will be implemented as an application for the ROSA Mobile, ROSA Chrome, ROSA Fresh and ROSA Cobalt operating systems. Also, it will be possible to work with the service in the desktop and mobile web version on any operating system, including Windows and Mac.

ROSA Mobile is an operating system developed in Russia. A unique driver system for all components of the future smartphone was created for this operating system. It is completely domestic production.

"Rutek", which manufactures the 'R-FON' at its Saransk factory, explains that this way users will be protected from unauthorized access by intruders.

Such work is not just programming. This is a full-fledged R&D, there have been no analogues in Russia. The experience gained in the process of this work is one of the key values of our operating system. However, all the efforts undertaken allow us to be confident that 'R-FON' is a smartphone with enhanced protection against cyber espionage.

Director of NTC IT 'ROSA' Oleg Karpitsky

It will be impossible to collect personal data through a camera or microphone, scan the user's location, attack 'R-FON' via wireless Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and modem interfaces, as well as steal the phone owner’s biometric data and all information stored on it.

The new product, which will go on sale in 2024, is accompanied not only by interest but also by scandals. For example, tech bloggers found a device in Bangladesh that looks similar to the Russian smartphone.

The Bangladeshi has a larger 108 MP camera but only 6 GB of RAM. The Russian has 2 GB more memory, but the camera is more modest, only 50 MP.

In response, 'R-FON' developers say they are not familiar with the Bangladeshi development. Russian and foreign smartphones are 'two completely different devices'. However, to start assembling the 'R-FON' in Saransk, the company 'Rutek' had to use foreign parts for now.
