The company AGR Automotive Group, which after the departure of Volkswagen from Russia now owns its vacated assets, will launch a Kaluga plant that belonged to this foreign company. This was announced on his Telegram channel «Russian automobile» by car expert Sergey Tsyganov.
According to his information, AGR has signed a contract for a very small batch of cars. We are talking about the screwdriver assembly of 120 Chinese Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max. This means that parts of the crossover will simply be brought to Russia and connected at the factory, like a constructor.
Since the signing of the agreement was delayed, the first machines of the Kaluga assembly will appear only at the end of December.
Tsyganov believes that the extension of cooperation between AGR and Chery in this part is unlikely and almost zero.
Sales of Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max in Russia were announced in July this year, but the price of the car was not published for a long time. Now it is already known, and starts from 2.6 million rubles.
