Российский VR-тренажер поможет восстановить функции легких после коронавируса

Research on a respiratory VR simulator has begun in Volgograd

Scientists from the Visdom laboratory of the Volgograd State Technical University (VolgSTU) and the company "Devirta", based in medical clinics in Volgograd, have begun research on a unique complex for the rehabilitation of lung functions. The VR simulator (Virtual reality, note www1.ru) helps restore the respiratory function of a person after suffering from diseases - ARVI and coronavirus.

According to the technical director of the project, Alexander Zubkov, the VR simulator has received a certificate of registration and is currently undergoing testing. The creators hope to make the rehabilitation complex massive. Zubkov stressed that there are no analogues to such equipment in the world.

The simulator works as follows: the patient puts on virtual reality glasses (VR glasses) and performs breathing exercises. Sensors record breathing indicators, as well as the progress of rehabilitation. It is noted that such training allows not only to increase the potential of the lungs, but also to strengthen the whole body. The developers plan to supply the VR simulator to physiotherapy rooms, medical and educational institutions.
