A capital company has started the production of a drug for photodynamic therapy of oncological diseases. In the early stages of cancer, this method can replace surgical intervention, reported Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin.
According to him, the Russian development has no foreign counterparts. It is known that the drug, introduced to the patient, accumulates in tumorous cells, after which it is activated by laser or LED radiation. As a result, the tumor is almost completely destroyed.
As Sobyanin clarified, the company's management plans to produce up to 40 thousand bottles of the drug per year. It is expected that this volume will cover the needs of photodynamic therapy in Russia.
Earlier, www1.ru reported on the work of several Russian companies over an analogue of a foreign drug against Hepatitis C “Zepatir”.
