Insiders of the public Avtograd News have confirmed that at the enterprise «Lada Saint Petersburg» the assembly of trial batch of Chery Tiggo 7 Pro crossovers under the Lada badge has been completed.
These data are supported by photos of cars taken on the territory of the plant's engineering center. Thus, rumors of AVTOVAZ's collaboration with Chery in the Russian market have been confirmed.
Sources also claim that Chery offers more attractive partnership terms for AVTOVAZ than the FAW company. Let's remind, that the Chinese FAW Bestune T77 has been released under the Lada brand since April this year at the plant in Saint Petersburg.
Now next to the Lada X-Cross 5 (this is what the former FAW Bestune T77 is called) Chery is being tested. It was reported earlier that for two Chery Lada models have already got indices: 7 Pro and 8
Now at the factory in Saint Petersburg a trial batch of such cars has been assembled, specialists of various quality control services of VAZ are now engaged in checking the compliance of all technological parameters of assembly.
This step may have significant importance for future partnership relationships and the development of the automotive industry in Russia. In addition, the similarity of the Chery and Lada logos will facilitate the renaming process if needed in the future. Let's remind that rumors about the possibility of producing Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 under the Lada brand appeared already in July. AVTOVAZ has not yet confirmed the details of the cooperation, but does not exclude the possibility of setting up a large assembly in Russia.
