The Russian government has decided to allocate a separate frequency band in the range from 5030 to 5091 MHz for civilian Russian drones. And this is important: on the one hand, standardization of the frequency band is necessary to create a unified infrastructure, and on the other hand, this approach will allow UAVs to legally share the sky with manned aircraft, that is, with airplanes.
Russia has already approved a national project for the development of unmanned aviation, and it envisages the creation of a unified communication and control, navigation and monitoring infrastructure for drones.
There is also a task to significantly increase the production of civilian drones. According to Vasily Shpak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, about 18,000 drones will be produced in Russia in 2024, and by 2030 the volume of UAV production will exceed 30,000 units.
