Construction of a new ground station for communication with the ISS has begun on the territory of the enterprise "Information Satellite Systems" named after Academician M.F. Reshetnev, which is part of Roscosmos.
The Orion-Ts digital receiving and transmitting complex will be built, which will provide audio and video communication with the Mission Control Center and the Russian segment of the International Space Station. "Orion-Ts" was decided to be located on the basis of the Reshetnev enterprise both because of the high qualification of its specialists, and based on the geographical location of Zheleznogorsk – this city is located almost in the center of Russia.
After the installation of the Orion-Ts station is completed, its tests will be carried out, including trial communication sessions.
