Evgeny Dudorov, Director of Android Technology Research and Production Association, spoke about the tests of the combat robot "Marker". It turned out that when equipped with a rifle and grenade launcher module, "Marker" is capable of hitting targets much more accurately and faster than a human.
When performing exercises of a motorized rifle squad (automatic target recognition), a two-circuit rifle and grenade launcher module with high-speed gearless drives allowed the RTP "Marker" to hit targets significantly faster and more accurately compared to a shooter.
An interesting feature of "Marker" is that the drives of the optoelectronic sighting unit and weapons are separated, this allows to hit several targets in the visibility zone simultaneously.
Engineers are currently working on improving the accuracy and selectivity of shooting, as well as on hitting aerial targets.
Platforms can already hit micro-UAVs and many other complex targets much faster and more efficiently than a human can. In the "Marker" project, the operator is only present at the stage of making a decision on the task.
