Inenergy, with the participation of Gazprombank and Transport of the Future, plans to build the first plant in Russia for the production of batteries for drones. The planned investment volume is 25 billion rubles.
The enterprise called «Metalion» with a capacity of 750 MW•h will appear in Dolgoprudny by 2025 and will produce not only low-power batteries and accumulators (up to 1 kW•h) for portable equipment and drones, but also large ones with a capacity of more than 100 kW•h, for electric vehicles and energy storage. Transport of the Future will be the anchor buyer: it will need batteries for the production of 800 agricultural drones, 50 heavy drones weighing 700 kg, and several hundred other UAVs.
Inenergy expects that in the first couple of years domestic batteries will be approximately 30% more expensive than Chinese ones; they plan to compensate for this difference with state support.
