From August 1 in Russia, new recycling rates are in effect, on average they are 1.7-3.7 times higher than the rates that were in effect before the increase.
For example, for a car with an engine volume from 1.0 to 2.0 liters, you will have to pay 300,600 rubles, although as of July 31 the rate was 178,400 rubles. The larger the volume, the higher the rate. So, for example, now the recycling fee for a car with an engine volume from 3.0 to 3.5 liters will be 970,000 rubles compared to 259,600 rubles before. The recycling fee on electric cars has dramatically increased - from 32.6 thousand rubles to 360 thousand rubles.
Recycling rates have increased for both legal entities and for those individuals who import a car into the country for resale, not personal use. However, if a citizen imports a car for personal use (does not resell it within the first year of operation after import), the old recycling rates apply: 3,400 rubles for a car with an engine from 1.0 to 3.0 liters. A similar amount of recycling fee is paid when importing an electric vehicle.
The increase in the recycling fee was initiated by domestic car manufacturers (including KAMAZ and AvtoVAZ), and the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the recycling rates, which have increased several times, will protect buyers from resellers who do not provide the proper level of warranty and service.
