It will now be tested at temperatures from plus 50 to minus 50 degrees, and also in conditions of dusting and rain
Izhevsk Mechanical Plant (IMZ, part of the Kalashnikov group) is planning to launch mass production of the new self-loading 9-mm pistol 'Udav' by the end of this year.
The factory clarified, the first batch of 'Udav' will undergo a full cycle of tests at temperatures from plus 50 to minus 50 degrees, as well as in conditions of dusting and rain.
The peculiarity of 'Udav' lies in the fact that it is designed for a 9x21 mm cartridge, which gives an advantage in defeating armored targets over such common pistols as Makarov and Yarygin.
