Publication "Kommersant" reported, citing its sources about the fact that the American company General Electric (GE) from June 19 against the background of expansion Western sanctions against Russia stopped servicing gas turbines at Russian thermal power plants. It is reported that GE has closed access to the monitoring system and stopped the service maintenance of turbines. In the future, the company may stop supplying spare parts for GE and Alst turbines.
"The decision to completely stop cooperation from the the expected Western colleagues. So far, the company is provided with the necessary spare parts, but considers the possibility of localizing production and service", - commented the situation in the generating company "T Plus". At "Inter RAO", it was reported that the company "Russian gas turbines" (a joint venture of "Inter RAO" and GE) localizes the production of spare parts for GE turbines and provides service services in within already concluded contracts.
Interestingly, Western sanctions have not yet affected supplies components for gas turbines to Russia.
