«In 2023, 11 foreign airlines regularly operate flights over the airspace of Russia on transpolar routes: Air India Limited, Cathay Pacific Airways, China Cargo Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Pakistan International Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Qatar Airways Company, Qatar Executive», – reported in the Russian Aviation Authority.
Transpolar routes are the shortest international air routes, connecting North America with the countries of Eastern and Southeast Asia. They pass through the North Pole, the oceanic sectors of the air traffic organization centers of Murmansk and Magadan, further in the areas of Khatanga, Krasnoyarsk, Yakutsk, Blagoveshchensk.
