Vega Corporation (part of the Ruselectronics holding of the Rostec corporation) together with NPO Mashinostroenia and Rocosmos started operating the first remote Earth sensing satellite 'Condor-FKA' – it was launched today from the Eastern using the Soyuz 2.1a rocket and has already been successfully put into orbit.

"Condor-FKA" will be able to receive detailed images with a resolution of up to 1 meter and survey the Earth's surface in a band up to 100 km wide in scanning mode at any weather and time of day", - they explained in Ruselectronics.

The condor-FKA includes a synthetic aperture radar developed by the Vega corporation, designed to obtain radar images of high and medium resolution. It is equipped with a mirror umbrella-type antenna and provides all-weather round-the-clock observation in a strip of the earth's surface, parallel to the flight path of the spacecraft.

"Increasing our own modern group of remote earth sensing satellites is an extremely important measure to ensure the technological sovereignty of our country. At present, the corporation has fulfilled its obligations to develop and produce a useful load for all satellites of the future Condor-FKA orbital grouping. Now the corporation's enterprises are working on creating a new radar for the next generation of spacecraft of this type in order to fully meet the needs of consumers of such information in the coming years", - noted the general director of the Vega corporation Sergei Skorykh.
