Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU NETI) announced the first animated avatar in Russia for simultaneous translation into Russian Sign Language, developed for VTB Bank. This is a chatbot that provides consultations in Russian Sign Language on issues related to deposits, pensions, protection against fraud, etc. This service is aimed at bank clients with hearing impairments. The service was developed as part of the federal program "Priority 2030".

The service was developed by scientists from NSTU NETI and engineers from Adaptis. Specialists trained a neural network to recognize Russian Sign Language and created a two-way online translator for communication between deaf and hearing people in real time.

«We are now actively collecting feedback from bank clients», — said Maxim Nechai, director of Adaptis LLC. He added that in the future, it is planned to master most sign languages, of which there are more than 150 in the world.
