In Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU NETI) they spoke about the first animated avatar of synchronous translation into Russian sign language in Russia, developed for VTB bank. It's a chat-bot that provides consultations in Russian sign language on issues of deposits, pensions, protection from fraudsters, etc. This service is targeted at bank customers with hearing impairment. The service is developed within the framework of the federal program 'Priority 2030'.
The service was developed by scientists of NSTU NETI and engineers of the company 'Adaptis'. The specialists trained a neural network to recognize Russian sign language and created a Two-way online translator for communication between deaf and hearing people in real time.
'We are actively collecting feedback from the bank's customers now', - said the director of LLC 'Adaptis' Maxim Nechai. He added that in the future it is planned to master most sign languages, which are more than 150 in the world.
