Rostec Supplied the Army with as Many Infantry Fighting Vehicles in Three Months of 2023 as in the Entire Year of 2019

The volume of repairs of BMD-2 and BTR-D has also increased

Rostec reported on the delivery of another batch of BMP-3 to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, while the state corporation announced a multiple increase in the production of these infantry fighting vehicles.

«Kurganmashzavod (part of the "High-Precision Complexes" holding of the Rostec State Corporation) has shipped a new batch of BMP-3s as part of the implementation of the state defense order. In the first quarter of this year, the company delivered as many infantry fighting vehicles as in the entire year of 2019. Also, production volumes at the Volgograd site of Kurganmashzavod, which specializes in the overhaul of army airborne equipment BMD-2 and BTR-D, have doubled,» the state corporation said. And they added that the products are restored to their full operational life, and most of them have their main components and assemblies replaced.

The BMP-3 was developed in the second half of the 1980s at the Special Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering. Its capacity is three crew members and up to seven paratroopers, the maximum speed on the highway is 70 km/h. Earlier, Rostec spoke about mobile dynamic protection for the BMP-3.
