«Rostec» reported on the delivery of another batch of BMP-3 to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, at the same time the state corporation announced a multiple increase in the production volumes of these infantry combat vehicles.
«Kurganmashzavod (part of the High Precision Systems holding of the Rostec corporation) has shipped a new batch of BMP-3 as part of the execution of the state defense order. In the first quarter of this year, the company delivered as many infantry combat vehicles as for the whole of 2019. Also, the production volumes at the Volgograd site of Kurganmashzavod, specializing in the overhaul of army landing equipment BMD-2 and BTR-D, doubled", - the corporation reported and added that the products are restored to their full operational resources, and most of them have their main components replaced.
The BMP-3 was developed in the second half of the 1980s at the Special Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering. Its capacity is three crew members and up to seven paratroopers, the maximum speed on the highway is 70 km/h. Earlier, Rostec told about the mobile dynamic protection for BMP-3.
