Kurganmashzavod, which is part of Rostec, has developed additional dynamic protection for the BMP-3. Its peculiarity lies in its mobility – the protection can be mounted on vehicles directly in the field.
"Hanging dynamic protection kits have been developed, which, due to counter-explosion, reduce the penetration ability of a projectile that hits the vehicle. Each new BMP is equipped with mounting elements for their installation. At the same time, it is easy to equip new BMP-3s with kits," Kurganmashzavod said.
The developers added that for additional dynamic protection, "instructions have been developed with which the military will be able to retrofit equipment in the field and thereby increase its level of protection."
As a reminder, the BMP-3 is designed to transport motorized riflemen to the line of combat, provide fire support, and suppress enemy firing points. It is armed with 30 and 100 mm cannons.
