The deputy governor of the Novosibirsk region, Sergey Semka, confirmed plans to launch the heavy strike drone S-70 "Hunter" into mass production. However, this will not happen soon. "I think [mass production of the drone] will begin in a couple of years", - said Semka.
In order for it to be possible to mass-produce it, at the Novosibirsk aviation plant (part of the PJSC "Sukhoi Company") they will carry out production modernization, build a new building and increase the number of workers by 1.5 times.
The S-70 "Hunter" was developed at Sukhoi Design Bureau, it is made using "stealth" technology. The take-off mass of the UAV reaches 20 tons, the maximum flight speed is about 1 000 km/h. Mass deliveries are planned to begin in 2024.
