Russian state-owned companies may be required to fully switch to domestic software

The Ministry of Digital Development has come up with such an initiative

The Ministry of Digital Development proposes to oblige state-owned companies to fully switch to domestic software by 2025. This was announced by the head of the department, Maksut Shadaev.

«For mature products, we can still set a very clear indicator for state-owned companies, which should actually be equal to 100% by 2025. It seems to us that there is already readiness here, and the products are generally good, there are competitive positions in many areas», said the head of the Ministry of Digital Development during the next meeting of the Association of Software Product Developers "Domestic Software".

According to Maxit Shadaev, there are «quite strict directives for state-owned companies» regarding the transition to Russian software. «There is now one figure - 70% of the volume of expenses should be for Russian programs, software and hardware solutions. So just for general-purpose solutions, where maturity is high, is one, where there is competition, is two - we believe that there we can set additional indicators that would imply a 100 percent transition», said the head of the Ministry of Digital Development.
