«I have a presidential order to create this [super-heavy] carrier, starting next year. God grant. The situation in the country is difficult, there is no money for everything», — said Borisov. He also added that it would take 8-10 years to create the rocket.
In general, such a rocket for flights to the Moon in Russia was developed earlier, but in early 2021 technical design was discontinued. Dmitry Rogozin, who headed Roscosmos at that time, said that the project of the Yenisei super-heavy rocket and its heavier version, the Don, had been revised due to the transition to "more breakthrough technologies": methane was planned to be used as fuel, instead of an oxygen-kerosene mixture.
