Gulnara Khasyanova, General Director of the Mikron plant, announced at the Svyaz-2023 forum that the company had managed to find a replacement for the materials for new-style foreign passports.
She answered the relevant question as follows: "Of course, everything will be fine." And then added: "There are Russian manufacturers, we are actively working with them, [although] not everything works out the first time."
As a reminder, the issuance of new-style foreign passports was temporarily suspended in February of this year due to a shortage of microchips that are integrated into the foreign passport form. At that time, Goznak reported that Mikron needed to reconfigure its equipment in order to meet the increased demand for chips in the future.
