The M-11 Neva highway is a motorway that connects Moscow with St. Petersburg. It serves as a backup for the M-10 Russia highway and covers a total of 684 kilometers. Construction of the M-11 highway began in 2014, when the first sections were opened: 15–58 km and 258–334 km. In 2017, two more sections appeared — 208–258 km and 334–543 km. In 2018, two new sections were opened — 58–97 km and 543–646 km. And in 2019 — three more: 97–149 km, 543–646 km and 646–684 km.

In July 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin opened the last section of the road — the Tver bypass, which is 149–174 km. Thus, the highway became completely continuous. According to the press service of Avtodor, the entire route from Moscow to St. Petersburg can now be covered on a comfortable high-speed road without a single traffic light. Travel time has been reduced by 30–50 minutes.

The permitted speed on the highway ranges from 110 to 130 kilometers per hour. The number of lanes varies from four to ten, depending on the specific section of the road.

The Northern Bypass of Tver is a section of road just over 62 kilometers long, which belongs to the highest technical category. It is equipped with four lanes separated to separate traffic flows, and is equipped with lighting throughout. The maximum permitted speed on the bypass is 130 kilometers per hour.

The new road is building two multifunctional road service areas, each with an area of about 1,500 square meters. Here you can not only refuel, but also relax, have lunch in a cafe, buy everything you need, walk your pet, stretch out in the sports area, and even take your child to the playground.

Toll Cost on the M-11 Highway

The toll for the new Tver road bypass will be 540 rubles for passenger cars. The tariff for trucks will be 970 rubles.

The toll for the entire M-11 highway, including the Avtodor sections, with the exception of the section between the 15th and 58th kilometers in the Moscow region, will be:

for passenger cars from Monday to Thursday — 3.55 thousand rubles;
on Friday, Saturday and Sunday — 3.8 thousand rubles.

For trucks, these amounts will increase to 7.25 and 8.15 thousand rubles, respectively.

The state company reminded that there are season tickets that allow you to save up to 15% when traveling on a specific section.

The M-11 Neva highway has a closed toll collection system. This means that drivers only pay for the distance traveled.

Before the trip, the driver must register in the system at the entrance to the toll collection point. If the car has a transponder, registration occurs automatically. If it does not, you need to get a ticket in a special machine in the lane for travel.

Payment is made after the trip, at the exit from the highway, using a bank card, cash or transponder.

Earlier, Avtodor canceled the two-hour rule for short routes on the M-11 Neva highway between Solnechnogorsk and St. Petersburg. Motorists who spent more than two hours traveling a route of less than 50 kilometers had to pay the maximum fare.
