The heavy loitering munition (kamikaze drone) «Lancet-3» is a NATO artillery killer. This is one of the best systems that Russia can offer to foreign buyers. This opinion was expressed by military expert Brandon J. Weichert in an article for The National Interest.
Weichert recalled the cases of the «Lancet» hitting the American M777 howitzer, the Polish self-propelled artillery unit (SPG) Krab.
Loitering munitions are versatile and relatively inexpensive systems. They can carry various warheads, including high-explosive fragmentation, cumulative projectiles for hitting armored vehicles. «Lancet» is equipped with an optoelectronic guidance system.
Thanks to the thermal imaging camera, «Lancet» can be used at night.
