"Yakovlev" received an order for 90 MC-21 aircraft for 4 years at once

Rostec and Aeroflot officially agreed on the delivery of airliners until 2032

Rostec and Aeroflot signed a contract for 90 MC-21 aircraft. The Russian carrier is expected to receive the new airliners between 2029 and 2032, and together with the 18 aircraft already ordered, its MC-21 fleet will grow to 108 machines.

The state corporation emphasized that the contract fixes future production load for several years ahead – this is exactly what is needed to transition from individual deliveries to mass production.

For the industry, contracts are important where delivery conditions are clearly fixed: the number of aircraft, deadlines, price.
Sergey Chemezov, head of Rostec

Chemezov added that the production of a passenger airliner takes from 1.5 to 2 years. Therefore, a pre-formed order portfolio allows enterprises to plan production and gradually increase the pace.

The first 18 aircraft from the first contract are expected to be delivered to the carrier in 2027–2028.

Earlier it became known that Aeroflot will be supplied with MC-21 at 3.6 billion rubles per unit, with an expected market price of 9 billion rubles. The difference will be covered by state subsidies.
