The reported figure of 80 cycles for the Russian PD-8 engine might create the impression that the power unit will need to be replaced after approximately 40 flights. However, this conclusion is incorrect, explained aviation expert Roman Gusarov to "Pervyy Tekhnicheskiy".

Before this, Gusarov noted that the actual operating time of the PD-8 on test benches might already be higher than the value specified in the documentation. However, the test results still need to undergo the necessary processing before they can be used to officially increase the lifespan.
