Minsk Tractor Works (OAO "MTZ") plans to reduce the number of dealerships in Russia. The company requires dealers to provide customers with extended service, so it will prioritize large regional partners. This was stated by the general director of the Belarusian plant, Taras Murog.

Currently, MTZ has 89 dealers and 5 of its own trading houses in Russia. This market accounts for 55% of exports in monetary terms. However, from January to June 2026, MTZ sales in Russia decreased by 2% compared to the same period in 2025. The Belarusian company does not disclose specific figures.
According to Murog, market demand is limited due to a reduction in Russian grain exports and a decrease in its value. In addition, negative economic factors affect the agricultural sector. Despite this, MTZ expects to increase sales by 2% by the end of 2026, partly due to a partnership program with "Rosagroleasing".
The general director of the enterprise stated that MTZ products are now comparable in price to Chinese ones. However, the main "forte" of the Belarusian manufacturer is reliability, ease of repair, and the availability of spare parts from dealers, he emphasized.
And I still hope that our customer will not turn away from us.

MTZ also does not plan to open new assembly plants in Russia, as the head enterprise is capable of meeting demand. The plant plans to compensate for reduced sales in Russia by supplying equipment to Africa. This year, MTZ will send agricultural machinery to 6 countries on the continent.
