Russian military, presumably, began to use a new type of drone interceptor. The body was built from cheap foamed polypropylene based on the ZOHD Talon platform, analysts of "Voennaya Khronika" reported, citing foreign sources.

This material is characterized by low weight and ease of manufacture. It is assumed that the drone is capable of speeds up to 150 km/h and can operate at an altitude of up to 5000 meters.

The main purpose of the device is to combat other UAVs. The OFBCh-0.8 high-explosive fragmentation warhead with remote detonation capability is mentioned as the combat load.

There is also an option for kinetic interception without the use of explosives.

In parallel, Moscow is sharply increasing production of "Yolka" interceptors. Compared to the new product, its characteristics are slightly higher - acceleration up to 230 km/h, but the drone hits the target exclusively with a kinetic strike - that is, by ramming.
