Domodedovo Airport has gained a new major partner: Vnukovo has become a co-owner of the company managing the air hub. Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo airports have teamed up to jointly develop Domodedovo, aiming to enhance management efficiency, improve service quality for passengers, and expand opportunities for airlines and business partners.
Currently, 100% of the company owning Domodedovo Airport belongs to OOO "Perspektiva" – a subsidiary of AO "International Airport Sheremetyevo". Vnukovo contributed 16.5 billion rubles to the authorized capital of this company and, as a result, acquired a 25.01% stake. Thus, Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo have become partners in managing Domodedovo.
Vnukovo and Domodedovo are similar in several parameters, including passenger traffic volume and size. We can share our experience in aircraft maintenance, cargo complex management, catering, and baggage handling systems. The horizons for cooperation are broad.
Sheremetyevo added that attracting Vnukovo as a partner should help stabilize Domodedovo's operations. Based on the assessment conducted, specialists pointed out the airport's difficult condition: problems in infrastructure, production processes, management, significant debt burden, and losses.
Considering the conducted expertise of Domodedovo Airport's key processes in terms of infrastructure, production and safety, corporate and financial management, economic activity, and IT projects, we see that Domodedovo remains an extremely complex object with chronic problems, high risks, significant debt burden, and losses.
Earlier, Domodedovo came under state control after a court decision. On June 17, 2025, the Arbitration Court of the Moscow Region granted the Prosecutor General's Office's lawsuit against 32 structures associated with the airport, as well as against holding owner Dmitry Kamenshchik and Chairman of the Board of Directors Valery Kogan, for the transfer of Domodedovo Airport to state revenue.
The reason for the lawsuit was foreign control over the management company, which, according to the prosecutor's office, is linked to residents of Turkey, the UAE, and Israel. The airport's beneficiaries, being residents of other states, violated Russian legislation: they controlled a strategic enterprise and siphoned profits abroad.
