High-speed internet based on the "Rassvet" satellite constellation will be in demand in regions where the construction of terrestrial fiber-optic infrastructure is unprofitable or technically impossible. These include the Russian Arctic, the Far East, and the Northern Sea Route, stated the press service of the aerospace company "Buro 1440".

Thanks to the deployment of "Rassvet", residents of remote and hard-to-reach areas will be able to use the internet on par with residents of large cities. In addition, emergency and rescue services will gain access to fast data transmission.

Today, mobile communication penetration in northern regions is lower than the average Russian indicators, which is due to the difficulty of laying terrestrial communication lines because of the harsh climate, complex terrain, and vast territories.

Transport companies, telecom operators, mining enterprises, and industrial production are interested in the development of the low-Earth orbit satellite constellation. Access to stable internet opens up opportunities for the digitalization of each of the aforementioned industries, noted "Buro 1440". For example, logistics companies will be able to use unmanned vehicles, and mining companies will be able to monitor quarry special equipment, the company concluded.

The launches of the experimental "Rassvet-1" and "Rassvet-2" spacecraft took place in 2023-2024. In late March 2026, "Buro 1440" sent 16 satellites into orbit.

In June, one of them deorbited and burned up in the atmosphere. Commercial operation of the low-Earth orbit system is scheduled to begin in 2027.
