The second algorithmic programming competition on Russian processors – "SERPAS Cup 2026" – will be held on servers with eight-core "Elbrus-8SV" and new "NeuroMatrix" chips. The results of the past tests were unexpected: the performance of "Elbrus-8SV", released in 2020, could not compare with the best x86_64 models, but significantly exceeded the participants' expectations. 

The idea of holding the competition arose with Erokhin in 2025 against the backdrop of negative coverage of "Elbrus" in the public space. He decided to give future specialists the opportunity to personally work with Russian processors and form their own opinion. The first "SERPAS Cup" gathered more than 30 students and graduates from all over Russia.

The "Elbrus-8SV" processor (1891VM12Ya) contains eight cores with a clock frequency of up to 1.5 GHz, is manufactured using a 28-nm process technology, and is equipped with a four-channel DDR4-2400 ECC memory controller with a bandwidth of up to 68.3 GB/s. The third-level cache memory is 16 MB, and the second-level is 4 MB. The peak performance of the processor reaches 288 GFLOPS for double-precision operations and 576 GFLOPS for single-precision operations. The processor supports dynamic translation of x86/x86-64 code, which allows running programs written for the Intel architecture without recompilation, and can be combined into multiprocessor systems of up to four chips. The extended temperature range is from −40 to +85 °C.
