The Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering (TsKB MT) "Rubin", developer of the Project 955A "Borei-A" strategic submarine cruisers, has unexpectedly changed its top leadership. Vladimir Dorofeev replaced Igor Vilnit as General Director.

Dorofeev comes from the Malakhit Design Bureau, where he worked since 2011. Vilnit headed the enterprise since 2012. The reasons for the personnel decision were not explained by Rubin.

Rubin Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering is engaged in the design of nuclear missile and diesel-electric submarines, as well as special-purpose ships and AUVs.

In March, Vilnit reported that Rubin had begun design work on the creation of new generation submarines that will become part of the Russian Navy.
