The construction of the Krasnoyarsk metrotram has reached a key milestone – the breakthrough of the first tunnel, 2.5 kilometers long, has been completed. The work was carried out by specialists from a Chinese company using the "Evgenia" tunnel boring machine, which connected the future stations "Ulitsa Vysoktnaya" and "Ulitsa Kopylova".
During the breakthrough, 1874 reinforced concrete rings were installed in the tunnel, forming a complete underground structure. Now, builders face the final section, approximately 14 meters long. It is here that the shield must pass through the wall of the dismantling chamber, consisting of monolithic reinforced concrete bored piles and protective ballast.
The contracting company reported that the breakthrough proceeded as planned and without serious complications. Currently, specialists are preparing for the most critical stage – the extraction of the tunnel boring machine into the dismantling chamber. This operation is considered one of the most technically challenging throughout the entire construction period.
Simultaneously, preparation of the dismantling chamber itself continues. Builders are deepening the shaft, which will reach almost 50 meters. By autumn, they plan to complete the installation of the reinforced concrete tray and all necessary structural belts, after which the site will be fully ready to receive the shield.
Designers and contractors expect to increase the pace of construction as work progresses. The total length of the first line of the Krasnoyarsk metrotram will be about 11 kilometers. According to current plans, the first passengers will be able to use the new line in 2028.
