From June 2, customs will be able to shoot down drones: how it will work

The FCS will be able to destroy drones over its facilities, as well as suppress control signals

From June 2, Russian customs authorities will receive new powers against drones. Now they will be able to destroy aerial, underwater, surface, and ground unmanned vehicles if they are near customs infrastructure facilities.

The law allows customs officers to use various methods of influencing such devices. These include suppressing or changing remote control signals, affecting control panels, damaging, and destroying drones.

Drones are to be destroyed to repel an attack or threat of attack on customs facilities and the people located there. Weapons and special means can be used for this. Their list must be determined by the government.

At the same time, the procedure for making decisions and the list of officials who can apply such measures will be established by the Federal Customs Service itself.
