Import substitution of L-410 aircraft led the plant to court

The instance sided with the plant in a dispute with the Ministry of Industry and Trade for 83 million rubles

The Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) won a dispute against the Ministry of Industry and Trade over a contract for experimental design work within the framework of the L-410 aircraft replacement project. The Moscow Arbitration Court refused to recover 83 million rubles in penalties from the enterprise due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

The parties signed the contract in December 2016. The Ministry of Industry and Trade believed that UZGA violated the deadlines for several stages of the R&D – instead of November 2018, the work was officially completed only in the spring of 2019.

The largest claims concerned the fourth stage of the project – more than 37 million rubles. The ministry demanded another 28.4 million rubles for stage 3.2 and 17.5 million for the sixth stage of work.

During the process, UZGA representatives stated that the statute of limitations had already expired. The court supported this position.

The decision states that the ministry should have learned about the violation of deadlines back in December 2018, but sent the claim only in 2023, and filed the lawsuit in 2026. As a result, the court completely denied the Ministry of Industry and Trade in recovering penalties.

UZGA noted that previously produced L-410s are being re-engined with new VK-800 engines, intended for LMS-901 "Baikal" and "Osveya".
