Ural Locomotives Plant for the First Time "Declassified" and Showed Wheelset and Gearbox of HSR Train

Assembly of EVS360 cars enters pre-commissioning phase

At the Ural Locomotives plant, key components of the EVS360 high-speed electric train were demonstrated for the first time – the gearbox, wheelset, bogie frame, and windows. Photographs of the components were published following the working visit of Russian Minister of Transport Andrey Nikitin to the enterprise, which is part of the Sinara – Transport Machines holding.

The production of wheelset axles and gearboxes has been mastered directly at the Ural Locomotives site. Previously, the plant had already presented gearboxes for Finist electric trains, and this development is now being used in the creation of the new high-speed train. Concurrently, window bonding into the car bodies is underway on the assembly line – one of the final stages of preparing the cars for testing.

The EVS360 project is accompanied by the active formation of a domestic intellectual property base. Oleg Belozyorov, head of Russian Railways, announced that the company will receive over a hundred patents upon the train's release. Currently, 86 applications have been filed, of which 44 patents for inventions, utility models, industrial designs, and software have been successfully registered.

Development is carried out with a focus on maximum technological independence: critically important components and systems are created with the participation of Russian engineers and production facilities. This approach not only reduces dependence on imported components but also creates a foundation for the possible export of proprietary solutions in the field of high-speed rolling stock.
