Internet for dachas and remote work: Beeline and MegaFon expand coverage in Moscow Region

Special attention was paid to settlements with a seasonal surge in mobile traffic

Mobile operators have begun preparing networks in the Moscow Region for the summer increase in load. VimpelCom (Beeline brand) announced the expansion and modernization of infrastructure in Ramensky, Odintsovsky, and Dmitrovsky districts, while MegaFon accelerated mobile internet in 12 districts of the Moscow Region.

Beeline has strengthened its network in key districts of the Moscow Region since the beginning of 2026. In addition, the operator modernized base stations in Elektrostal, Balashikha, and Ramensky: specialists installed additional equipment and optimized radio parameters to increase network capacity and signal stability under high load.

Special attention was paid to dacha settlements and cottage areas, where mobile traffic sharply increases with the onset of the warm season. Beeline stated that they had prepared the network in advance for peak scenarios when thousands of users connect simultaneously. Oleg Biryukov, Director of the Moscow Region for Beeline, noted that for many, the dacha has become an extension of urban life: people work, study, and communicate online even outside the city, so the internet must work stably "whether in the garden or on the terrace."

MegaFon also expanded coverage in the Moscow Region. The operator's engineers built and modernized base stations in Zaraysk, Yegoryevsk, Shatura, Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Shakhovskaya, Ruza, Sergiyev Posad, as well as in Odintsovo, Korolyov, Domodedovo, Solnechnogorsk, and Balashikha. According to the company, the average mobile internet speed in the updated areas now reaches 100 Mbps.

The work affected not only cities but also settlements, villages, and SNTs. MegaFon added new LTE bands to existing sites and launched base stations in areas with growing traffic. Coverage was expanded near residential locations, hospitals, polyclinics, administrations, parks, and other public spaces.

MegaFon notes that with the arrival of warm weather, part of digital activity traditionally shifts from Moscow to the region: people more often go to dachas, sanatoriums, and recreation centers, and with them, the network load increases. The operator's base stations support VoLTE for simultaneous calls and mobile internet, as well as MIMO 2x2, which increases network throughput even during peak hours.
