Multifunctional Prefabricated Slab for Arctic Construction Invented in Tver

The development is 25-30% lighter than traditional materials

Scientists from Tver State Technical University (TvGTU) have developed and patented a multifunctional prefabricated slab for construction in the Arctic zone. This was reported by the university's press service.

The construction material's design can be altered by selecting appropriate polymer-composite slabs and composite reinforcement. It is assembled using anchor studs or self-tapping anchors.

Advantages of the new material:

  • Weight reduction by 25-30%
  • Reduced pressure on the ground foundation
  • Crack resistance and corrosion resistance
  • Reduced volume of repair work

The multifunctional prefabricated slab is also economical, as it does not use steel reinforcement in its production. The development can be used for building airfields, equipping oil and gas fields, and constructing roads.
