MPK-107 and MPK-82 used dense fire from AK-630M to hit drones of a simulated enemy off the coast of Kamchatka

Crews of Project 1124M "Albatros" ships fired at floating mines in Avacha Bay

A shipborne search and strike group, consisting of small anti-submarine ships MPK-107 and MPK-82 (Project 1124M "Albatros"), repelled an attack by drones and naval drones of a simulated enemy during complex exercises. This was reported by the press service of the Pacific Fleet.

The drills took place off the coast of Kamchatka in Avacha Bay. The sailors used AK-630M automatic artillery mounts, which provide high fire density for accurate target engagement.

A key element of the exercises was the joint firing of ships from 76 mm AK-176M artillery mounts at a sea shield, simulating a surface ship of a simulated enemy.

The MPK crews also practiced grenade throwing and firing from heavy machine guns and small arms at models of floating mines.

Third-rank small anti-submarine ships are designed to search for and destroy enemy submarines and protect naval bases. The project was developed by specialists of the Zelenodolsk Plant. MPKs were built in Zelenodolsk, Khabarovsk, and Kyiv.

MPK-107 was laid down at the Khabarovsk Shipyard in 1988. It was transferred to the USSR Navy in March 1991.

Ships of this project are equipped with Osa-MA air defense systems, Strela-3 MANPADS, and RBU-6000 Smerch-2. They also carry DTA-53-1124 torpedo tubes with SET-53 homing torpedoes.
