A naval detachment of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces has begun a scheduled long-range deployment to the waters of the Asia-Pacific region. The formation includes two modern corvettes — "Sovershennyy" and "Rezkiy" (Project 20380) — as well as the medium sea tanker "Pechenga" (Project 160), which ensures the deployment's endurance.
Already at the stage of departing from their home base, the crews began practicing tactical tasks. During the drills, training was conducted on countering unmanned aerial vehicles of a mock enemy, as well as comprehensive anti-submarine exercises involving Ka-27PL shipborne helicopters.
The crews practiced coordination in detecting underwater targets, deploying hydroacoustic buoys, and simulating an attack with anti-submarine torpedoes.
In the coming weeks, the detachment will take part in joint maneuvers with the naval forces of friendly states and make port calls at ports in Asia-Pacific countries. The deployment is aimed at strengthening international naval cooperation, practicing long-range navigation skills, and demonstrating the Russian Navy's ability to maintain a presence in strategically important areas of the World Ocean.
