Russian Engineering Troops Provided Donbas with Water: Specialists Drilled 108 New Wells

17 mobile PBU-100 units entered the ground with a total depth of 9 kilometers

In the Donetsk People's Republic, 108 water intake wells with a total depth of over 9 thousand meters have started operating – this is the result of the work of Russian military engineers. Special units of the Russian Ministry of Defence deployed a group of 17 mobile drilling rigs PBU-100 to solve the critical water supply problem in the region.

Military engineers use compressor equipment to lift groundwater to the surface. Before starting work, specialists use geodetic equipment to determine optimal drilling points, prepare the site, and only then launch the main cycle.

After drilling is completed, each well undergoes laboratory testing: the water is tested for compliance with sanitary standards for domestic use. Only after quality confirmation does the resource enter the distribution networks.

PBU-100 units demonstrate high mobility and autonomy: they are capable of operating in difficult terrain and confined spaces.

The drilling depth varies depending on the geology of the site, which allows adapting the process to specific hydrogeological conditions. This is especially important in an area where centralized water supply systems are damaged or require lengthy reconstruction.
