Fraudsters have come up with a new scheme — they created a fake cybersecurity website and collected user passwords under the guise of checking them. This was reported by the IB company "Solar."
The resource looked convincing: it was called "Digital Shield" and filled with materials about the "main cyber threats of 2026." It also featured a "cybersecurity guide" and offered to check how reliable your passwords are.
In fact, this "scanner" was the main trap. The user entered the password supposedly for verification, but actually passed it to the fraudsters. Moreover, it could be the same combinations that are used in other services.
According to experts, such data is then collected into databases and used to hack accounts through automatic selection.
The site itself has already been blocked, but experts warn that similar resources may reappear.
The main rule remains the same — do not enter your passwords on third-party sites, even if they look like official services.
