Su-25UTG and Su-33 practiced combat maneuvering in the Arctic sky

Pilots of the Northern Fleet's aviation corps performed complex aerobatics at low altitudes

Pilots of the Su-25UTG (training aircraft) and the fourth-generation Su-33 carrier-based fighter of the Northern Fleet's aviation corps performed a set of piloting tasks. This was reported by the press service of the Northern Fleet.

Pilots of the Su-25UTG and Su-33 practiced simple and complex aerobatics at medium and low altitudes, as well as offensive and defensive maneuvers. The press service emphasized that special attention was paid to elements of combat maneuvering to seize the initiative in aerial combat and actions to destroy helicopters and drones.

The exercises took place on the Kola Peninsula and over the sea ranges of the Northern Fleet. In total, the crews made more than 30 sorties.

About the Su-25UTG

The training aircraft was created on the basis of the Su-25UB training and combat attack aircraft. The Su-25UTG lacks targeting equipment, a cannon, engine armor screens, a communication radio, and a weapon control system. The aircraft was produced at the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant from 1989 to 1995. A total of 15 units were assembled.
