The number of types of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) included in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade has decreased from 76 to 28 in a year. The reason is the tightening of requirements for production localization, Vedomosti reports.
To get into the register and gain access to state support and procurement, drones must score a certain number of points for the use of domestic components and technological processes. The bar is rising annually: in 2024, 600 points were enough for UAS up to 30 kg, in 2025 it already required 1100, and in 2026 - 1400 points.
Many manufacturers who successfully passed the test last year were unable to confirm the required level of localization this year. As Alexey Serdyuk, Head of the Department of Unmanned Systems and Robotics of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, explained, some components that are not counted as Russian are not currently taken into account in the register. The department is working on revising the rules for inclusion in the register and hopes for a gradual return of drones to the list. According to the latest data, 31 vehicles have already returned to the register.
