Navigation for the MC-21 and "Superjet" will be provided by Tambov

The new building of the Elektropribor plant will be poured with a special vibration-isolated foundation

Construction has begun at the Elektropribor plant in Tambov on a production building for the manufacture of platformless navigation systems for civil aviation, including the MC-21-310 and SJ-100. Regional head Evgeny Pervyshov took part in the ceremonial pouring of the first ton of concrete.

The project provides for a twofold increase in production capacity for aviation instruments, the governor clarified. The work is being carried out as part of the comprehensive aircraft industry development program approved by the Russian government through 2030.

The new building will also provide nearly 600 additional highly qualified jobs. A decent level of wages and the enterprise's social focus should attract new personnel to the industrial sector.

Aleksey Slugin, Director General of the Elektropribor plant, noted that the last time construction on such a scale was carried out at the enterprise was in the mid-1980s, when space was needed for the development of dynamically tuned gyroscopes.

As of today, we are the only enterprise in the country that makes inertial navigation systems for civil aviation.

A vibration-isolated foundation will be poured at the enterprise, necessary to protect sensitive equipment from the slightest vibrations.

Elektropribor already manufactures inertial navigation systems for the MC-21, Sukhoi Superjet NEW, Il-114, Il-96 and Tu-214. More than four thousand people work at the plant.
