Certification of the PD-8 engine is likely to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. This was announced by the head of Rosaviatsiya, Dmitry Yadrov.
According to him, in 2025, the work was aimed at fulfilling the plans outlined at the meeting with the President of the Russian Federation in 2024.
The completion of the certification of the PD-8 engine is also likely to be in the first quarter of next year.
The PD-8 two-circuit turbofan engine with a thrust of 8 tons is undergoing a series of tests to obtain a type certificate.
In December 2025, the engine successfully passed one of the key stages — fan blade rupture tests, confirming the strength of the housing. Also at the end of the year, the experienced SJ-100 with PD-8 reached its maximum operating altitude.
